The apartment is quietly located in the center of Sítio da Nazaré, the highest and oldest part of the city. This is the quietest neighborhood, but within just 10 minutes you will find several restaurants, shops, the market square, the daily market, a viewpoint over the city and the ocean, two beaches, the tourist office, the ‘Funicular da Nazaré’ elevator to the lower city and even a medical center.
From the viewpoint on the market square, there is a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean, the coast and the lower town. The beach is 110 meters below. In summer, you can rent beach huts and/or a sun lounger with umbrella. Along the main avenue, there are many small shops and excellent (fish) restaurants. Behind the boulevard you will find many narrow streets with small squares.
Nazaré has one of the oldest fishing traditions in Portugal. Locals often grill sardines fresh from the sea. Fishermen's wives sell dried fish or dried fruits and nuts. They are recognized by their traditional clothing: they wear up to 7 overlapping skirts.

Lisbon Airport: 1 hour by car. It is best to drive along the A8, the Autoestrada do Oeste. Nazaré is close to the highway.
